Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic became a serious test for the functioning of our healthcare system, especially in the field of quality and safety of the healthcare services provided to the population. This article sets out some of the main principles and tools of the quality and patient safety theory, based on Donabedian’s concept: structure, process, and outcomes. They might be useful in the management of crisis healthcare situations such as the current pandemic. The article includes short literature review of Bulgarian and English sources and is also based on the author’s experience as a consultant and quality manager.
