Theoretical Problems of Prevention Policy Research

Abstract

The article presents a systematic review of the main theoretical problems concerning prevention policies. The focus is on policies aiming at preventing drug abuse. Some important conceptual preconditions are outlined regarding effective policymaking in the field. The importance of public attitudes is stressed having in mind its importance, especially in programs, targeting direct behavioral changes.
